This image (taken by Khoo Min Sheng) was in newspapers all around the world; I might as well claim it as my own! WWF seems to have misidentified this as the very rare Phobaeticus chani, when it is probably the common P. kirbyi (see here).

I am a biologist with research interests ranging from plant ecology and biogeography to molecular phylogenetics and biodiversity informatics. I am currently based in West Kalimantan (Borneo), Indonesia, and am committed to helping conserve the magnificent forests of Southeast Asia, and to the training of local scientists. I am supported by The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, and work with the Asian program of the Center for Tropical Forest Science. My wife, Kinari, is a physician and runs a combined health and conservation project in West Borneo.
