I am a Research Assistant with the Center for Tropical Forest Science at Singapore. I am now working on the Big Tree Census at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, and help out in other CTFS projects such as DNA barcoding. I have a broad interest in tropical ecology and am commited to help conserve the amazingly rich Southeast Asian biodiversity. Given a chance, I hope to study plant-animal interaction in the forest canopy, or on the coral reefs if I am not allowed to climb!

I enjoy various outdoor activities. SCUBA diving will be on the top of my list. I am currently a SSI Stress and Rescue diver but I plan to be a Dive Master before I start island-hopping on the Pacific Ocean! Dive into my photos taken in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.

Nature volunteering has also become a big part of my life. I spent more free time on the reefs of Singapore than Orchard Road, either guiding a walk during low tide or being a dive guide. Also help out in Reef Check-ing the Singapore coral reefs. Check out the Blue Water Volunteers for more details.

Before I got into all these nature and outdoor stuffs, I was into team sports. I played basketball and softball regularly in school. At the same time, I am also a basketball referee. After officiating for some eight years, I finally become a FIBA referee. Now looking forward to my first international tournament ;)

By the way, "Orang Asli" means aborigine in Malay (literally "original man"). Some of my friends like to call me that. Perhaps they think I am weird!
