Scope :: The symposium is intended to highlight exciting new developments in Bayesian phylogeny estimation and phylogeny-based inference methods, stressing the conceptual and theoretical aspects upon which these new approaches are based, and also emphasizing issues related to the implementation and application of these new methods to empirical data.

Objectives :: The symposium aims to represent and facilitate the research interests of the scientific community at Yale and other institutions, and thereby encourage interaction between graduate students, postdocs, research associates, and faculty that share a common interest in phylogenetic biology and Bayesian inference. The conceptual breadth of the subject should provide an excellent opportunity for local researchers to identify and forge connections with other members of the larger scientific community, and to learn directly from and interact with leading experts in Bayesian phylogenetic research.
And besides, it should be a lot of fun.
